LION POACHING RIFE IN SOUTH AFRICA’S LIMPOPO PROVINCE

POLOKWANE, The killing of lions is rife in South Africa’s Limpopo province is rife four lions being killed for their parts this past week, says the South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson in Limpopo, Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe.

He said here over the weekend that two lions were killed at the Bushfellows game lodge outside Grobelarsdal and were found without heads and paws. The other two were killed outside Lephalale earlier in the week.

Ngoepe said the police had not yet made any arrest in both incidents.

Following the killing of two lions in Vaalwater outside Lephalale this week, the police in Marble Hall outside Groblersdaal had launched a manhunt for the suspects who had killed two lions and subsequently cut off the heads and paws of the two lions, and disappeared,” he added.

“As of now there is no arrest. The police are therefore calling an all members of the community who are aware of these suspects to contact the nearest police station or our stop crime number 0860 010 1111 or our SMS line 32211. Our investigations are continuing.
