The president of the Republic, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, has sent a message of condolence to his Egyptian counterpart, Abdelfatah Al-Sisi, regarding the accident that occurred last week in his country. The entire contents are published below.
“To His Excellency Abdelfatah Al-Sisi
President of the Arab Republic of Egypt
Mr. President and Dear Brother,
It is with great pain that we received the sad lamentable news of the accident involving two trains which crashed last Friday in the district of Khorshid, to the east of Alexandria, causing the 43 deaths and 122 injured.
Shocked by this sad news, the people of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, and their Government, join with me in expressing to Your Excellency and the Egyptian people our deepest condolences, while offering our moral support and solidarity. We ask Your Excellency to pass on these sentiments to the families of the victims.
Please accept, Mr. President and dear brother, this expression of my highest and most distinguished consideration.
