“To His Excellency Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, President of the Republic, Head of State.
To mark the commemoration of the historic date of 3rd August 1979, in the name of the citizens of Equatorial Guinea residing in the United Kingdom, the diplomatic personnel attached to this diplomatic mission, and in my own and those of my family, we are united in expressing to H. E., family and the deserved Armed Forces, our warmest and most effusive congratulations for this feat which returned full autonomy to the people.
Since the events of that heroic feat, the efforts deployed to make Equatorial Guinea great are the faithful reflection and basis of that action. That is why each and every one of the citizens of Equatorial Guinea should feel obliged to continue to strongly support the policy of modernisation and building that Your Excellency is following, based on the promotion of socio-economic and cultural development in our country.
It is for that reason that we wish you the best for your personal well-being, and a long life at the head of the historic destiny of our beloved country, in the company of your distinguished family.
The highest and most distinguished consideration.
