New Prison Supervision Prosecutor visits Black Beach Public Prison

The new Prison Supervision Prosecutor, Liberato Edu Osa, has made his first visit of introduction and inspection at the Black Beach Public Prison in Malabo, and recalled that “all citizens must recognise and comply with its rights”.

“Equatorial Guinea enjoys the Rule of Law, where every citizen should know their rights before the law”, maintained Edu Osa, who made this visit on 13th July, accompanied by the Supervisory Judge, and in the presence of the prison administrator, Cristobal Mangue Mcogo.

Another of the aims of Edu Osa in this first visit was to get to know the state of each of the prisoners held in Black Beach central prison.

The administrator of the prison, Cristobal Mangue Ncogo, held a conversation with Edu Osa, in the presence of some students from the Faculty of Law at the University of Equatorial Guinea (UNGE). They looked at matters regarding strict compliance with the law, and presented the new prosecutor with a list of prisoners accused of committing various crimes.
