President of Central African Republic ends visit in Mongomo

The Presidents of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, and the Central African Republic, H. E. Faustin-Archange Touadera, together with the Prime Minister, Francisco Pascual Obama Asue, some members of the Government, Local authorities and the Christian congregation attended Sunday mass said by the Bishop of the Diocese of Mongomo in the Basilica Cathedral.

We are proud and grateful for the presence of the Central African leader, because he is the first foreign president who has visited us since the basilica was proclaimed as a cathedral and episcopal headquarters of Mongomo”, said the bishop in his homily.

H. E. Faustin-Archange Touadera gave his impressions and signed the bishopric visitors’ book. Moments later the presidential entourage went to Mongomeyen International Airport, where members of the Central African colony were waiting to bid farewell to their president.

Touadera gave his impressions regarding the vote that many countries had given our country regarding the post of non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, in addition to answering other questions before the national and international media, in the presidential terminal.

H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo used the occasion to invite other leaders to work together in order to build a strong Africa, where the interests of its inhabitants could prevail.

Following military honours and salutations for national and local figures, the two leaders bid a cordial farewell on the steps of the presidential plane.
