The presiding couple attends the celebration of St. James the Apostle in Akoakam

The faithful Christians of the Council of Akoakam, headed by the presidential couple, have commemorated on Tuesday 25 July the feast of St. James the Apostle, patron of this town of which is The President of the Republic.

The Mass, presided over by the new Bishop of the Diocese of Mongomo, Monsignor Juan Domingo Baca, was attended by high-ranking personalities of the country, such as the Vice-President of the Republic, State Security and Defense Officer, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, and Prime Minister, Francisco Pascual Obama Asue, among others.

In his homily, Monsignor Juan Domingo Baca thanked the local Christian community for having received it and expressed his congratulations on the good organization of the event.

On the other hand, the presence of HE Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and Constancia Mangue de Obiang has been highlighted at this mass of thanksgiving.

During this Eucharist, a total of 18 children of both sexes have received communion for the first time.

After the mass, relatives, friends and acquaintances of the presidential couple have gone to the house of President Obiang to attend a reception.

The Town Council of Akoakam, located about 3 km from the city of Mongomo, is the town that saw the birth of the Head of State, HE Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.
