Third Council of Ministers meeting of 2017

The Government met on 30th June in a Council of Ministers meeting, to look at the points on the agenda. The meeting, overseen by the Head of State, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, was attended by the Vice-President of the Republic, Charged with Defence and State Security, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue; the Prime Minister, Francisco Pascual Obama Asue, and all members of the Executive.

The President of the Republic opened the session in the name of the people of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.

Among the points covered was the presentation of two general State budget projects, by the department of Finance and Budgets, for the economic periods 2016 and 2018.

The departmental head of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation presented the agreement to grant visas to students from member countries of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP), and ratification projects for agreements signed by the Government of Equatorial Guinea and the republics of Angola, Egypt, Brazil, Venezuela and Chad, in addition to the United Nations Agencies and the protocol of the constitution act of the African Union to the Pan-African Parliament, adopted by the Conference of AU Heads of State, in Malabo, on 27th June 2014.

The Minister for the Interior and Local Corporations proposed the creation of the electoral roil and the authorisation and legalisation of three new political parties: National Union for Democracy in Equatorial Guinea (UNDGE), National Congress for Democracy in Equatorial Guinea (CNDGE), and the National Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea (PNDGE).

Before moving on to any other business, the third Vice Prime Minister of the Government announced the organisation of the National Economic Conference.
