To mark the upcoming celebration of International Book Day, the Director General for Libraries, Archives, Museums, Books and the Collation of Historical References, Estrella Milagrosa Eteo Eposi, informed reporters from guineaecuatorialpress.com of the activities being organised.
Milagrosa Eteo Eposi commented that International Book Day is a day dedicated to the promotion of reading. She also declared that this year’s celebration would focus on African literature, and for that reason, in Equatorial Guinea, and throughout the continent, the day was going to be promoted in conjunction with writers.
The Ministry for Culture has organised various activities, such as exhibitions and meetings with writers.
The programme commences on Friday 21st April, with the presentation of a new book by Maria Teresa Avoro, called “Poems in prose and song”, in which she recounts her everyday experiences, and speaks of the goodness of being human, Christianity, and youth. The presentation will take place at the National Library at 16:00.
Eteo Eposi is encouraging all Equatoguineans to take part in the activities on this day of culture.
