In the context of the work of the 24th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union (AU), the President of the Republic granted an audience to an Egyptian delegation led by the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Sherif Ismail.
During the audience, Minister Sherif Ismail extended his congratulations to the Head of State of Equatorial Guinea, Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, for the excellent organization of the African Cup of Nations 2015, held from January 17 in our country. Ismail also carried a message sent by the Egyptian President, H.E. Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, to his Equatorial Guinea counterpart.
For his part, the Head of State conveyed to the Egyptian envoy the condolences of the Government and People of the Republic by the terrorist for attacks that have occurred in the Egyptian Sinai Peninsula and caused the death of over twenty people.
At the meeting, which served to strengthen bilateral relations in the economic aspect, was also attended by the Egyptian Minister of National Security, Faiza Abou el-Naga.
