In the presence of some members of the diplomatic mission from our country in the Republic of South Africa, Leones Vegetarianos FC, from Equatorial Guinea, and the Opopo Football Club Academy, signed an agreement to promote young Equatoguineans with footballing talent, who at a professional level will go to be trained at the academy. During the meeting, Joaquin Mbomio Ondo, representing the Equatoguinean club, revealed that in addition to the agreement in question, he had also brought the first Equatoguinean youth to benefit from the initiative.
The relationship between Leones Vegetarianos FC and the Opopo Football Club Academy in South Africa began in 2018, when executives and representatives from the two clubs met in the city of Pretoria, with the aim of supporting and promoting youth from the Republic of Equatorial Guinea with aspirations to develop their footballing skills at a professional level.
Mbomio Ondo said that to have as partners a South African club for the promotion of our youth in the area of football is very important, in the knowledge that, historically, football in South Africa is professional, while in our country we are continuing to work towards the promotion and development of this sport”.
The leones took A�ngel Felipe Miko to Opopo, as the first youth to benefit from this initiative. From this moment, he will be trained as a professional within the ranks of the academy.
