Ambassador to Congo receives Angolan counterpart

The accredited Republic of Equatorial Guinea Ambassador to Congo-Brazzaville, Samuel Ateba Owono Iyanga, has received in audience the accredited Angolan Ambassador to Congo, Vicente Muanda. The aim of the meeting was to speak about the state of the relations of friendship and cooperation between Malabo and Luanda, above all in the learning of the Portuguese language.

The audience was the first meeting held between the two diplomats since they were accredited in Brazzaville.

Following a brief review of the state of relations between Equatorial Guinea and Angola, Ateba Owono and Muanda agreed on the need to continue to consolidate the traditional ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

During their conversations, the two diplomats also saw the need to work in order to energise relations of cooperation on projects and programmes that consolidate the integration of Equatorial Guinea within the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP), such as the creation of programmes and projects for the teaching of this language in Equatorial Guinea, and the awarding of study grants for its learning in Luanda.
