On 30th July, various authorities from the country arrived in Bata to take part in the start of the official programme of events, to mark the 40th Anniversary of the Freedom Coup, on 3rd August.
The meeting was attended by various members of the Government, parliamentarians, civil and military authorities, and various guests, who gathered on the threshold of the Port of Bata, to witness the openings and laying of first stones for the infrastructures executed by the Head of State, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, for the benefit of the population.
He also oversaw the decoration of the Vice-President of the construction company, China Road, Saho Yang Si, and two directors from this company, for their good work, followed by the technical report from the Minister for Public Works, Infrastructures, Housing and Town Planning, Diosdado Nsue Medja.
The infrastructures opened were:
The Port of Bata.
Phase 6 of the Promenade.
The Fishing Port around Ekuku bridge.
The Regional Offices for Finance, the Economy and Planning.
The Regional Offices for Trade.
The laying of the first stone for the extension of Bata International Airport.
