The Committee of Ministers from the Agency for Aerial Navigation Safety in Africa and Madagascar (ASECNA) approved, at its 62nd ordinary meeting held in Lome, Togo, the registration of Mongomeyen Airport, in Equatorial Guinea, on the agency’s list of community airports.
The opening ceremony was overseen by Kami Selom Klassou, Prime Minister from the Republic of Togo, who stressed in his speech the strategic importance of ASECNA for member States.
Maintaining aeronautical tariffs for 2019; backing the request for partnership with Australia, Canada, France and Japan for the provision of space-based meteorological services; registration of the request from the San Pedro airport in Ivory Coast, and backing the organic framework for Safety Auditing, were some matters that were also approved by the committee.
Furthermore, ASECNA has a mandate to work on the implementation of service to the Single Market for Air Transport in Africa, launched by the African Union (AU), in January of 2018 in Addis Abeba.
