On 23rd September, the Minister for Information Press and Radio, Eugenio Nze Obiang, received in his office in the Continental Region the UNICEF Representative in Equatorial Guinea, Antero Almeida de Pina.
Firstly, Almeida de Pina congratulated the ministry for having delegations and teams working in every district and periphery of the nation, while speaking about collaboration on social projects being implemented in the area of communication with UNICEF, supporting commitments with the Government: for example, the programmes and campaigns broadcast on television and radio.
Furthermore, he presented the working plan for the polio vaccination campaign in support of the Ministry for Health and Social Welfare, added to the awareness-raising programme “Friends of Childhood”, in the districts of the continental region.
Antero Almeida de Pina underlined that the United Nations mandate for UNICEF in its mission in Equatorial Guinea is to protect children’s rights, in relation to the field of health, vaccination, education and the reduction of child victims of HIV/AIDS, together with protection against, violence, etc.
The Minister for Information, Press and Radio, Eugenio Nze Obiang welcomed the words of the UNICEF Representative, in support of the organisation.
