The Equatorial Guinean singer Betty Akna will give a concert on June 28 in Barcelona, at CaixaForum, to mark the International Day of Africa.
The concert organized by the Euro-African Center and the Obra Social “La Caixa” has as main star Betty Akna, who will perform with the Ilina gospel vocal group.
The Equatorial Guinean artist, recently nominated as best female singer of Central Africa, will give a concert in her purest Afrofusion style, which combines jazz, gospel or soul. She will share the stage with Ilina, a pioneer for being the only gospel group made up entirely of Africans and African descendants in the city of Barcelona.
The latest work presented by Betty Akna, “Lembo La Mbôka Ame”, showed us her composer side; an album that fuses the traditional Guinean rhythms with European reminiscences, interpreted in Ndowe, Spanish, English and French.
