Bilateral meeting between Head of State and Deputy Secretary of State for African Affairs

Within the framework of the policy of strengthening relations between the United States and the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, on Tuesday 19th June an important meeting was held at the United States State Department, between H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and the Deputy Secretary of State for African Affairs, Donald Yukio Yamamoto, accompanied by the accredited Ambassadors from the two countries, Miguel Ntutumu Evuna Andeme and Julie Furuta-Toy.

The audience allowed the Equatoguinean Head of State to speak to the US diplomat about various matters of interest, such as cooperation on the United Nations Security Council, in addition to the need for greater collaboration in questions regarding security in the subregion.

The meeting ended with a invitation issued by H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo to Deputy Secretary of State Yamamoto to attend the events celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Independence of Equatorial Guinea, on 12th October.
