The Committee on the Eradication of Poverty, one of the four themed blocks in the political phase of the III National Economic Conference, concluded its work on the evening of 2nd May at the palace of Conferences in Sipopo. The debates for this work were in progress at the technical conferences since 22nd April.
Francisco Pascual Obama Asue, Prime Minister of the Government, Charged with Administrative Coordination, in his capacity as president of the committee, acted as moderator at the table, in a working session that was marked by recommendations provided by participants to the committee board.
The issues debated covered a wide area: governance, health, education, housing, water and sanitation, employment, and agriculture and livestock respectively; all with the aim of finding alternative strategies to promote the development of the national economy.
Some of the points gathered in the recommendations report, following various observations and suggestions, were modified, eliminated or added through the agreement of this working group.
The Prime Minister underlined that the real challenge faced by the various working groups was the execution of the agreements taken from these themed blocks.
Among the members of this committee are the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Salomon Nguema Owono, and the Minister for Social Affairs and Gender Equality, Maria Consuelo Nguema Oyana.
