The national team of Guinea Conakry is classified to play the quarterfinals, after the draw to decide which team would go on to that phase. On the other hand, the CAF has decided that the quarterfinal matches that were to be played in Ebebiyin and Mongomo will be played in Bata and Malabo.
Luck smiled at Guinea Conakry, after three games and three ties at one goal: their national team and that of Mali had their destiny in this CAN 2015 decided in a draw in which the Guineans won.
After this result, the top three team classified of the CAN 2013 have been eliminated from this edition of the African Cup of Nations. Nigeria failed to qualify and Burkina Faso and Mali were eliminated in the group stage.
Moreover, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided that the quarterfinal matches to be played in Ebebiyin and Mongomo, will be held in the stadiums of Bata and Malabo.
The Organizing Committee of the competition has made this decision for economic reasons and to ensure the security pf the fields. Thus, the match between Equatorial Guinea and Tunisia will be held on Saturday, January 31, at 8:30 pm at the Nkoantoma Stadium of Bata; while the Guinea Conakry-Ghana match will be played on February 1 at 5pm at the New Stadium of Malabo.
