The national teams of Ivory Coast and Ghana have qualified for the semifinals of the African Cup of Nations after winning 3-0 and 3-1, respectively, against Guinea Conakry and Algeria.
In the first match of the afternoon, played at the New Stadium of Malabo, the Black Stars of Ghana comfortably overcame the national team of Guinea Conakry by a hefty 3-0.
The first goal came from a mistake by the Guinean defense, which was used effectively by Christian Atsu. The entire first half continued with the dominance of Ghana until at half-time, when they scored a new goal thanks to the player Appiah, who took advantage of a mistake by Sankoh.
The second half continued with the dominance of the Black Stars, who controlled the midfield with Wakasa and Acquah, and finished off the match with a goal by Atsu. The goalkeeper of Guinea Conakry, Yattara, was expelled with a direct red card for a very rough attack on the striker Asamoah Gyan.
With this classification, the team from Ghana will have to play the match against Equatorial Guinea to reach the final, next Thursday, in the New Stadium of Malabo.
