Celebration of Equatorial Guinea Independence in China

The Republic of Equatorial Guinea Embassy in the People’s Republic of China celebrated on Saturday 12th October the 51 years since gaining national sovereignty. The event was overseen by Camilo Ochaga Esono, First Secretary at the diplomatic mission, representing the Ambassador, German Ekua Sima, who for scheduling reasons could not be present.

Ochaga Esono began by welcoming the guests and the Equatoguinean students who had travelled from various cities in China in order to celebrate this great day as a single family. During his speech, the First Secretary highlighted the development seen in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea from 12th October, 1968 to date, after 200 years of colonialism, underlining the bravery of the fathers of Equatorial Guinea Independence.

During the party, various students presented traditional and modern dances, together with typical dishes from the country, for the guests to try.
