To mark 8th March, International Women’s Day, which is celebrated every year throughout the world, a thanksgiving mass was said by Fathers Bernardino Ava and Carlos Nguema Mansogo, and other priests, at the Church Cathedral of Bata.
On this day, women were asked to “pray for the good and bad work garnered, and also for humanity and so that God provides efficiency in abolishing detrimental behaviour, such as criticism, hate, selfishness, and the fight against polygamy, because this is the best time to obtain and enforce the rights that lead to empowerment” declared Father Carlos Nguema Mansogo.
Present at the mass were the Governor of the Province of Litoral, the Mayor-President of Bata Town Hall, delegates from the Administration at a regional, provincial and district level, and various diplomatic authorities, in addition to various choirs participating in the religious encounter.
Furthermore, various workers from public and private organisations, and the Christian faithful of the congregation, wore the popo clothing, featuring the colours of the country’s flag. Following that, the ceremony came to an end when those present received the priest’s blessing and communion from Father Bernardino Ava.
