On Friday 1st February, the General Secretary of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea (PDGE), Jeronimo Osa Osa Ecoro, received at the party headquarters on Malabo the accredited Ambassador from the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Chen Guoyou. The aim of the audience was to bid farewell to the diplomat, to mark the conclusion of his mission in our country.
The audience between Jeronimo Osa Osa Ecoro and Chen Guoyou served as an occasion for the Chinese diplomat to bid farewell to the PDGE General Secretary, as his mission as Ambassador has come to an end.
Chen Gouyou expressed his gratitude to the General Secretary for having facilitated his work at the head of his embassy, thanks to the support and collaboration offered in the performance of his duties. Furthermore, he congratulated Osa Osa Ecoro for his good work as head of the national Office of the party, as through his dynamism he had contributed towards strengthening and improving the excellent relations of friendship and cooperation that historically unite Equatorial Guinea and China, and the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea and the Communist Party of China, while at the same time he expressed his desire to always be an ambassador for our country, which he would defend anywhere and from any position of responsibility he may hold, because he was taking away a great impression of admiration and friendship for Equatorial Guinea.
Jeronimo Osa Osa Ecoro congratulated the Ambassador for the excellent role played in the strengthening of ties between their two countries and parties, above all in the implementation and promotion of the bases for the new stage of reorientation and diversification involving bilateral cooperation between Equatorial Guinea and China.
Osa Osa Ecoro also mentioned his gratitude for the friendship and support from China, which since Equatorial Guinea gained independence had always been a solid ally and defended the non-negotiable ideals of sovereignty and equality of peoples, non-interference in the internal affairs of nations, and respect for the United Nations Charter. China has been a steady partner during the development of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, and proof lies in the fact that many of the infrastructure projects in our cities were constructed by Chinese companies”, said Osa Osa Ecoro.
Another point covered during the meeting was the training of Equatoguinean human resources in Chinese universities, which has contributed not only to our country having qualified groups carrying out their functions in various sectors, but is also a link in the union between the cultures of the two countries. For the next academic year, the People’s Republic of China will once again offer our country over 30 grants so that Equatoguinean students can begin their university training in China.
