A variety of projects were examined on Thursday 22nd March, by the Minister for Culture, Tourism and Craft Promotion, Rufino Ndong Esono Nchama, and the Ambassador from the People’s Republic of China to Equatorial Guinea, Chen Guoyou. Among the matters covered were the training of human resources on Chinese soil, and the construction of a Guineo-Chinese cultural centre in our country.
On the morning of 22nd March, Chen Gouyou went to the ministerial department, invited by the Minister for Culture, to look at the possibility for cooperation in tourism and culture for the two republics.
During the audience, which was attended by the Secretary of State for Tourism, Catalina Martinez Asumu, the two reviewed bilateral relations and other matters, such as the possible construction of a cultural centre, and the training on Chinese soil of specialists in the tourism and culture sectors. The Minister expressed interest in Equatoguinean students studying in China in the culture and tourism sectors.
The Minister urged the Ambassador to raise awareness among Chinese tourism companies, so that they include the Republic of Equatorial Guinea in their holiday packages and programmes, so that Chinese people can spend their holidays in the country.
The signing of agreements with these tourism companies; the organisation of a training and development seminar for human resources in Nanchang for twenty Equatoguineans in the months to come, the donation of over fifty vehicles to the Equatoguinean Government; the invitation to a delegation from the Ministry for Culture to China in September, and the tour of a group of artists, were some of the other points covered at the meeting.
