Clemente Engonga Nguema Onguene re-elected as President of Electoral Board

On Wednesday 27th September, the members of the Electoral Board met to choose a new president, at a ceremony which took place in the meeting room at the Ministry for the Interior, and was overseen by the President of the Constitutional Court, Salvador Ondo Okum.

Following opening words from the President of the Constitutional Court, who wished them success in the task, they moved on to a presentation of the candidates for the post: Clemente Engonga Nguema Onguene and Mariano Nsue Esono.

The voting followed, in which members of the Electoral Board gave an envelope containing their choice to the President of the Constitutional Court, who placed it in the ballot box.

The count revealed 12 votes in favour of Clemente Engonga Nguema Onguene, 1 for Mariano Nsue Esono, and a null vote.

Clemente Engonga Nguema Onguene, on being appointed President of the Electoral Board, thanked members for their trust, and promised not to let them down in the responsibilities he had been given. The ceremony concluded with words from Salvador Ondo, wishing him well with this new task.
