The Teacher’s Day fiesta was held on 27th November with a thanksgiving mass in Malabo Cathedral, which was attended by the General Secretary from the Ministry for Education and Science, Pedro Esono Nse, representing the minister JesA�s Engonga Ndong; the Director of Primary and Pre-school Education, Marisol Efiri, and the District Inspector for Malabo, Benigno Pidal, in addition to numerous teachers and pupils.
At the mass, the priest pointed out various aspects of the life of Saint Joseph of Calasanz, a teacher and pioneer of modern education.
He also invited teachers to teach with vocation, love and patience, and look for mechanisms to raise the level of the pupils, to whom, in turn, he called on to study, make good use of their time, and do the tasks they are set.
After the homily, the teachers presented offerings on the altar as a symbol of thanks.
