The Equatorial Guinea Ambassador to Portugal and before the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP), Tito Mba Ada, met in Lisbon with the Executive Secretary, Maria do Carmo Silveira. The aim of the meeting was to boost community cooperation with our country.
The meeting took place following the Meeting of Foreign Affairs Ministers in Brasilia, and served as an opportunity for the two figures to review the huge questions currently facing the CPLP, together with the main challenges in relation to the integration of Equatorial Guinea within the CPLP and its new strategic vision; political affairs; the implementation of the project to spread the Portuguese language in Equatorial Guinea, and the role of our country on the UN security Council, among other matters.
During the audience, the two figures congratulated each other on the UNESCO-Equatorial Guinea Prize in Life Sciences, which in its 2017 edition awarded two prizes in CPLP counties, the Portuguese Rui Luis Goncalves dos Reis, from the University of Minho (Portugal), and Ivan Antonio Izquierdo, from the Biomedical Research Institute, Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil).
The Equatoguinean diplomat also used the occasion to negotiate in favour of Equatoguinean youth who opt for a place to carry out professional training in the CPLP.
