As an legal act established within diplomatic protocol procedures, on 17th October, the Equatorial Guinea Ambassador in Rabat (Morocco), Crisantos Obama Ondo, presented copies of his credentials as new Republic of Equatorial Guinea Extraordinary Plenipotentiary Ambassador, to the Tunisian Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Sabri Bachtobji, as a preliminary step to the presentation of his credentials before the Tunisian Head of State.
The act, which was attended on behalf of Equatorial Guinea by the Embassy Adviser, Lucrecia Mpa Sipaco, and on behalf of Tunisia by the Plenipotentiary Minister, Bouzekri Rmili, served as a framework for the two diplomats to review the historic relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Obama Ono passed on to the Secretary of State greetings from H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo for President H. E. Beji Caid Essebsi, and the strong desire to reactivate the relations of friendship and cooperation that unite the two brother countries.
In addition, the two figures briefly reviewed the main sectors that, since 2011, have been the object of protocols of cooperation, and expressed the need to update the framework of cooperation and action in order to adjust it to the demands of the times, taking into account the economic reforms within the Tunisian Republic in its 2016-2020 programme, and the Equatorial Guinea Horizonte 2020 Development Plan.
