Cuba and Equatorial Guinea strengthen ties of friendship and cooperation

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Simeon Oyono Esono, is currently on an official visit to the Republic of Cuba, in order to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation with the Caribbean country.

On Monday 8th April, Oyono Esono was received by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, to whom he expressed the priority that Equatorial Guinea gives to its bilateral relations with the Republic of Cuba, and reported on the willingness of the Equatoguinean Government to continue to further strengthen relations in reciprocal sectors of interest, above all in the areas of education, health and agriculture.

Oyono Esono asked that the ties uniting Malabo with Havana reached higher levels. The two Governments are working and supporting each other, and hope to achieve closer cooperation, in the process of the aim for sustainable development.

In a friendly atmosphere, the two parties ratified the will to strengthen political dialogue and mutual cooperation.

The Vice-President of the Council of Ministers, Ricardo Cabrisas, also received the minister, with whom he exchanged his opinions on the bilateral relations, and the two expressed their mutual desire to promote political ties and cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The moment was also used to thank Equatorial Guinea for support in the fight against the economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba.
