MK Ediciones is a cultural company run by the writer and ex Minister for Culture in Equatorial Guinea, Guillermina Mekuy, who received the award at the International Congress of Creative Industries in Honduras, held on 26th and 27th February.
The congress served as a space for reflection on cooperation and cultural dialogue, an opportunity where MK Ediciones stood out for its contribution to the culture and creativity of Ibero-America, with a clear feminine, African stamp. In addition, it was possible to appreciate the huge creative capacity of Guillermina, who surprised the Spanish and international publishing world with her first novel, “EL llanto de la perra” (2005). which sold out and is now being reprinted.
On this occasion, the company founded by Guillermina Mekuy was awarded prizes in the Publishing creation and Creative talent categories. Also awarded prizes were Latin American universities and companies, including the Udabol University in Bolivia, and its president Martin Dockweiler, UNAN in Nicaragua, and Eiger in Peru, together with Dong Feng, Latin American division, and Marriott Honduras, among others.
The conference inspired in the declaration of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), was sponsored by the congress, and brought together a group of companies and academic centres in the capital of Honduras with the aim of discussing and looking deeper into the creative and cultural sector, providing innovation and development.
