Delegation attends African Congress of Maritime Pilots in Tangier

On 17th October, led by the captain of the port of Bata, Jose Felipe Ondo Alo, the delegation met the Republic of Equatorial Guinea Ambassador to Morocco, Salomon Nfa Ndong, with the aim of reporting to the Equatoguinean diplomat on the culmination of the II International Congress on Safety and Piloting in Ports, held in Tangier from 14th to 16th October.

The delegation thought it opportune to report to the Equatorial Guinea Ambassador to Morocco the new measures adopted at the congress for the correct operation of ports.

Over 60 port authorities representing 20 countries, including the Port of Bata, took part in this second congress, which aimed to put forward new ways to improve port nautical services in order to support the continent’s renaissance regarding the port.

Under the banner: maritime management between challenges and adaptation for the development of ports in an emerging Africa, the congress took place, led by experts from the Professional Association of Maritime Pilots from the Mediterranean, and jointly organised with the African Association of Maritime Pilots and the International Association of Maritime Pilots.
