Delegation from Social Affairs takes part in sessions on Legal and Social Condition of Women

The delegation from the Ministry for Social Affairs and Gender Equality, led by the Director General, Margarita Esono Nguema, and including Araceli Akeng Nsue Nfumu, has been in the city of New York from 11th March, to take part in debates under the banner of women’s empowerment.

The Commission on the Delegation from Social Affairs takes part in sessions on Legal and Social Condition of Women is the main international inter-government body dedicated exclusively to the promotion of gender equality and women’s empowerment, essential for the promotion of women’s rights, the documentation of the reality of women’s lives throughout the world, and the setting of global standards on gender equality and empowerment.

Equatorial Guinea, as a full member country of the United Nations, is attending the sixty-third ordinary period of sessions of the commission, the work of which will conclude on 22nd March, with a speech from Margarita Esono Nguema, in representation of the minister Maria Consuelo Nguema Oyana.
