With just five days to go before the start of the VI Ordinary National Congress of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea (PDGE), under the banner: For continuous renewal”, the National Office, together with national , provincial and district structures, and the technical commissions and their corresponding sub-commissions, are working in close collaboration so that the event, which is held every five years, is as successful as possible.
Presidents of the ten technical commissions and the eight sub-commissions, led by the Executive Commission and General Coordination, overseen by Brother Militant Jeronimo Osa Osa Ecoro, have held successive meetings at the headquarters of the National Office in Malabo II, in order to ensure everything is executed, structured, programmed and organised so that the thousands of congressmen/women who will arrive on the 4th, 5th and 6th July at the International Conference Halls in Ngolo, in the city of Bata, adopt the renewal of the party with determination and confidence.
The congress has invited representatives from the thirteen political groupings making up the legalised opposition in the country, twenty-four “friendly parties”, forty representatives from private companies working in our country, and six state companies, together with eight national and international media organisations.
In addition, a cycle of conferences has been organised on topics such as “PDGE General Policy and Sector groupings of professionals as an alternative for business promotion”.
Furthermore, within the cycle of conferences, the presenters, assisted by co-presenters, will deal with other questions, such as “The strategic vision of the Plan Horizonte 2020 and the current national and international economic situation”; “Mechanisms to strengthen the production, transport, and national and international commercialisation of national products”; and “Mechanism of the Government of the Nation, and alternative financing for the industrialisation of Equatorial Guinea”.
At the VI PDGE Ordinary National Congress, in addition to representatives from the twenty-four Equatorial Guinea embassies, the Equatorial Guinea Permanent Mission before the United Nations and before the African Union, together with the six consulates, there will be delegations invited as special guests from the Interparliamentary Commission and the Subregional Parliament of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC),
Also taking part will be delegations from International Liberal, the European Parliament, the American Congress, the National Democratic Party, the National Union Party for the Democratisation of Equatorial Guinea (UNDGE), and the National Congress of Equatorial Guinea Party (CNGE).
International bodies from the United Nations will be represented by UNDP, UNICEF, UNFPA, FAO and the WHO, while from NGOs there will be delegations from CANIGE; ABIFAGE, ASONAMI, AGECDEA, Equatorial Guinea Red Cross and AMUSIDA.
The delegations will attend an Ordinary National Congress with the main backdrop as “the analysis and debating of matters of a political nature”, giving special importance to the economic and social issues facing our country. The debates will focus on the problems of the reactivation and diversification of sources of growth and the fight against unemployment.
Other aspects to be covered at the congress include the ratification of the unlimited mandate of a special nature that the General Statutes grant to Brother Militant Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, in his capacity as President Founder of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea; the election of PDGE vice-presidents; the renewal of the National Council, and the decoration of outstanding PDGE militants.
