Dinner in Brazzaville to mark National Independence Day

With a delay due to scheduling reasons, the Equatorial Guinea diplomatic mission in Congo Brazzaville has offered a dinner to various figures to commemorate the 51st Anniversary of Independence in our country.

The dinner took place in a hotel in Brazzaville, and was attended by special guests, the diplomatic corps and members of the Equatoguinean colony residing in the Republic of Congo.

Following the anthems from the two countries, Samuel Ateba Owono, Equatorial Guinea Extraordinary Plenipotentiary Ambassador, gave a speech in which he underlined some of the reasons why the Equatoguinean people claimed independence.

The head of the Equatorial Guinea diplomatic mission also praised the Congolese people and government, represented at the ceremony by the Minister for Culture and Art, Dieudonne Moyongo, for the hospitality and good treatment provided for both the embassy staff and the Equatoguinean colony.
