Distribution of mosquito nets in Malabo district

The Malaria Elimination Project on the Island of Bioko, in support of the Ministry for Health and Social Welfare National Programme to fight Malaria, began the distribution of mosquito nets to every resident in the city of Malabo from three points;of the city of Malabo on Tuesday 17th May, through two points: Malabo Regional Hospital, the Campo Yaunde Health Centre, and the offices of the Caracolas Project.
The distribution is completely free of charge and anyone collecting the mosquito nets is advised to bring personal identity with them in order to register and receive their nets. Distribution takes place from 9:00 am to 16:00 pm Monday to Friday.
From the 1st May until today, 23,773 mosquito nets have been distributed to the heads of households in this city, with a protected population of 48,420, including 8,710 children under 5 years of age and 1,254 pregnant women.
At the distribution points, Malaria Elimination Project on the Island of Bioko personnel are providing beneficiaries with all the necessary information regarding the use, maintenance and benefits of the mosquito nets, through training sessions.
This distribution strategy replaces the previous mass distribution strategy and guarantees the supply of mosquito nets to everyone who needs them
