Embassy in Egypt celebrates 50th Anniversary of Independence

The Republic of Equatorial Guinea Embassy in Cairo also celebrated half a century of our country gaining independence, with a special reception overseen by the ambassador, Eustaquio Nseng Esono, accompanied by personnel from the outpost.

The celebration was attended by various figures from the Egyptian Government, civil and military authorities, the diplomatic corps and representatives from international bodies, and representatives from the private sector and the press, among others.

The event began with the national anthems of Egypt and Equatorial Guinea, followed by speeches from the ambassador Eustaquio Nseng Esono and the representative from the Egyptian Government, Wael Nasr, assistant for African Affairs at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

They were followed by the cutting of the commemorative cake and a toast proposed by the ambassador for the health and well-being of H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and H. E. Abdel Fattal al Sisi; for friendship and cooperation between Egypt and Equatorial Guinea, and for the 50th Anniversary of Independence in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.

The celebration continued with a performance by the Equatoguinean singer Nene BantA�, who was a special guest for the occasion, accompanied by a group of artists.
