Embassy in Spain celebrates 49th Anniversary of National Independence

The third day of celebrations by the Equatoguinean colony in Spain to mark the 49th Anniversary of National Independence took place.

Following two days of intensive cultural activities at the headquarters of the Equatoguinean diplomatic mission in Madrid, on Monday there was an official reception, which was attended by Spanish authorities and accredited diplomats to the European country, among others.

Following the national anthems of Equatorial Guinea and Spain, the head of the diplomatic mission, Purificacion Angue Ondo, spoke, amongst other things, of the achievements of the liberating exploits of the country, Since that liberating exploit, which marked a return to institutional order, the recovery of freedom and the rights of the citizens, the socio-political evolution in our nation has been characterised by peace and political stability, emanating from the ideals of dialogue, agreement and unity advocated by the President of the Republic”.

Angue Ondo, in her speech, also underlined the successful steering of the democratic process by the Equatoguinean Government, Consequently, the Government of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea has successfully driven a democratic process founded on dialogue and agreement among the political players, the rule of law, and respect for human rights, the maintenance of peace, and the promotion of social well-being”.

The international achievements obtained by the Executive were also mentioned by the Equatoguinean diplomat. Following her speech, there were performances by Betty Anka and Muana Sinepi.

Among those attending was the Adviser from the Equatoguinean diplomatic mission in Spain, Bernabe Ndongo Mba; the First Secretary, Bonifacio Mitigo, and the Equatorial Guinea Consul to the Canary Isles, Emerenciana Mangue Obiang, among others.
