Equatorial Guinea and SAPound o Tome and Principe sign two memorandums of understanding

The events planned for the official visit by the President of SAPound o Tome and Principe, H. E. Evaristo Carvalho, began on the afternoon of Tuesday 13th August, when the President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, received his Santomean counterpart, with the aim of strengthening the diplomatic relations uniting the two countries, followed by a meeting between the mixed commissions led by the two leaders.

Following an analysis of the degree of execution of the agreements signed previously, the two Heads of State also identified other aspects in order to establish further cooperation. These led to the signing of a memorandum of understanding for the joint promotion of the boundary segments between the Republic of Equatorial Guinea and the Democratic Republic of SAPound o Tome and Principe.

Furthermore, they signed a memorandum of understanding on mutual diplomatic consultations between the Equatorial Guinea Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and the Minister for Foreign Business and Communities from SAPound o Tome and Principe, in addition to a joint communique signed by the minister Gabriel Mbega Obiang Lima and the ambassadors Simeon Esono Angue and Osvaldo Abreu, respectively.

A press conference by the two African statesmen was the last event, followed by a state dinner that H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo offered to the visiting delegation in the banqueting hall in the People’s Palace in Malabo.

During the dinner, the two Presidents gave several speeches.

With a signing of the visitor’s book and a farewell following the state dinner, the first working day for the delegation from the Democratic Republic of SAPound o Tome and Principe in our country came to a close.
