Equatorial Guinea and Singapore sign establishment of diplomatic relations

To boost mutual understanding and strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the two countries, the Republic of Equatorial Guinea and the Republic of Singapore presented to the public, on 11th April, in New York, a joint communique ratifying the official establishment of diplomatic relations.

Guided by the principles and purposes of the Charter of Nations and international law, particularly respect and promotion of international peace and security, equality between States, due respect for national sovereignty and territorial integrity, independence, international treaties to which the two are party, and non-interference in the internal affairs of States, Equatorial Guinea and Singapore, represented by their respective Ambassadors, Anatolio Ndong Mba and Burhan Gafoor, established diplomatic relations, in accordance with the provisions of the Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations of 18th April 1961.

The signed agreement will allow the two countries to develop projects of bilateral interest together in the future.

During the event, various figures from the Equatorial Guinea Permanent Mission before the United Nations were present.
