Equatorial Guinea could once again be the organiser of the next Heads of State and Government Summit for the ACP group. It would be the first time in history that in such a short time a country hosts two summits of what is the most extensive international organisation after the UN, which covers a total of 79 countries.
Our country held this important event at the end of 2012 and, faced with the logistical and organisational difficulties it presents for other countries, it is possible that Equatorial Guinea will once again be chosen for the next edition, which will take place at the end of 2019.
To that end, the Equatorial Guinea Ambassador in Brussels, Carmelo Nvono-Nca, met the General Secretary of the ACP Group, Patrick I. Gomes, and the initiative was formally proposed before the ACP Ambassadors Committee. It is expected that the final decision will be taken at the next Council of Ministers meeting, which will take place from 20th to 22nd May.
