The addition of our country’s flag to the access hall to the United Nations Security Council took place on Tuesday 2nd January, in a large act performed in the presence of various ambassadors from the institution.
As expected, the new members of the highest UN decision-making body have taken part in the traditional act of presenting flags, thus making official their membership of this key structure which oversees world peace and stability, in accordance with the principles established by the 193 member States making up the greatest forum of universal diplomacy.
Anatolio Ndong Mba, Equatorial Guinea Permanent Representative before the UN, placed our country’s flag, together with those from other States that over the next two years will take the diplomatic wheel and promote dialogue and concord in multilateral relations.
The First Deputy Permanent Representative, Charged with the Security Council, Job Obiang Esono, together with the group of senior officials recently sent by the country to New York, were also present at the ceremony which took place at the United Nations headquarters.
