The president of the Equatorial Guinea National Organisation for the Blind, Juan Rocoso, has made a call through the press to invite tutors to take part in this Visual Health Campaign, in order to prevent academic failure and school drop-outs due to visual problems.
The aim of this campaign is to prevent blindness, detect refractive problems and opthalmological problems, which may impede student work, in order to prevent failure and dropping out due to visual problems.
The activities began on 16th, and will end on 30th September. It is free, and is financed by the First Lady, Constancia Mangue. It will be aimed at students, from nursery to sixth form, and in university and professional training centres.
The consultation is also free, and a significant reduction in the cost of glasses will be applied.
