Equatorial Guinea Permanent Mission before UN hosts first breakfast for ambassadors

The permanent representatives of the 15 member States making up the Security Council met on 1st February to take part in the breakfast that opens the doors on the diplomatic harmony that will be overseen by Equatorial Guinea throughout the month.

As is the tradition in the United Nations Security Council, the rotating presidency of one month begins with a breakfast for the representatives of the 15 countries making up the structure.

At 9 a.m. precisely in New York, the Third Deputy Permanent Representative, Amparo Mele Colifa, began to receive the guests, who were then taken to the mission meeting room, and received by the Equatorial Guinea Permanent Representative before the UN, Anatolio Ndong Mba, and the First Deputy Permanent Representative, Job Obiang Esono Mbengono.

We are very happy to see you present at this first meeting, which marks the start of the presidency of Equatorial Guinea of the Security Council, while at the same time we ask you to help us in this challenge that constitutes control over world order”, said Anatolio Ndong Mba to his counterparts.

During the working breakfast which lasted over two hours, the diplomats used the occasion to approve the definitive working programme planned for the month of February, which will be overseen by the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.
