Equatorial Guinea reads motion of gratitude at CEEAC Council of Ministers meeting

Alberto Doria Lajay, Equatorial Guinea Deputy Minister for Trade and the Promotion of Small and Medium Companies, took charge of reading the motion of gratitude following the Council of Ministers for Commerce from the Economic Community of Central African States (CEEAC), highlighting the hospitality and support provided by the President of the Republic of Chad, H. E. Idriss Deby Itno, and his constant commitment to the cause of regional integration in Central Africa.

Furthermore, he reiterated his sincere thanks to the Government and the people of the Republic of Chad for the warm welcome, the displays of brotherly regard, and all the facilities provided for the delegations during their stay in Djamena.

The adviser also praised the CEEAC General Secretary for the initiative taken and the measures adopted to mobilise the necessary resources.

The evaluation of the CEEAC self-financing mechanism, the management of the accumulation of delays in contributions, and the need for an update on actions to be taken during 2018 by each country, were on the agenda for the session, which was held on 11th April, and in which Equatorial Guinea occupied the Vice-Presidency.

Accelerating the process of computerisation of the customs offices in all member States, and going further in the creation of a regional development bank to contribute to the financing of integrating projects and programmes, were some of the other matters dealt with at the council meeting.
