Equatorial Guinea sets out bases for reorientation of Plan Horizonte 2020

On Thursday 25th April the debates continued, with the presentation of the Agenda for Economic Recovery, by the Director general for the Economy and National Accounts. Following a break, those present discussed the development strategy for Equatorial Guinea post Horizonte 2020.

The blocks on “Eradication of poverty” and “Social Inclusion and Sustainable Peace” were moderated by the Minister for Finance, the Economy and Planning, Cesar Augusto Mba Abogo; the Secretary of State Charged with Primary and Secondary Teaching; the Secretary of State at the Ministry for Justice, Worship and Penitentiary Institutions and the Secretary of State, Charged with Forests and the Environment.

These conferences will help with the evaluation of the new national strategy for development. The presentations covered the achievements and obstacles observed during the development plan in the country. The current plan is following the aims of the Africa 2063 Plan.

Following the discovery of oil, the Government of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea organised two economic conferences; at this third conference the Government aims to consolidate social equality and economic diversification, and it signifies a new step forward towards implementing the development plan.

Through this conference, Equatorial Guinea wishes to use the experiences of other countries that already have a modernised system of public investment, such as the Republic of South Korea.
