Ethiopia will host the 24th AU Summit

The Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU), to be held in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) between January, 23 and 31, will revolve around the theme “Year of Women’s Empowerment and Development towards Africa’s Agenda 2063.”

The meetings of the various decision-making bodies will take place in the new Conference Center of the Ethiopian capital, and will be attended by delegations from the 54 member countries of the African institution, including Equatorial Guinea.

The meetings will begin with the celebration of the 29th Ordinary Session of the Committee of Permanent Representatives (COREP), followed by the 26th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council; while the 24th Ordinary Session of the Conference of Heads of State and Government will be held from January 30 to 31, in the Plenary Hall of the same building, named after the African leader Nelson Mandela.
