First Council of Ministers meeting for new government team

Overseen by H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, the Government in session held its first Council of Ministers meeting on 2nd March, at the People’s Palace in Malabo, following the reshuffle of the previous team.

The Head of State, as president of the Council of Ministers, gave his first instructions of a general nature to all the heads of the various departments making up the current government team, along the lines of adopting greater rigour in carrying out the entrusted duties.

The President underlined the need to reactivate the economy, due to the economic crisis situation encompassing the globe, and the implementation of various programmes for the reorientation of the development, political, cultural and social plan under Horizonte 2020.

He also spoke of the need for greater transparency in the departments, in order to increase income to the State coffers, in order to be able to satisfy the noble aspirations of the people of Equatorial Guinea, which the Government is called on to serve.

In the presence of the Vice-President of the Republic, H. E. Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, the Prime Minister, Charged with Administrative Coordination, Francisco Pascual Obama Asue, and all the members of the government team, the Head of State closed the session, wishing them success in their new functions.
