The Ministry for Culture, Tourism and Craft Promotion and UNESCO have organised a workshop which aims to identify possible sites to include on a National Inventory, and to identify areas of universal exceptional value for inclusion on the World Heritage list.
On 30th October work began for the seminar at the Hotel Anda China in Malabo, overseen by the Minister for Culture, Tourism and Craft Promotion, Rufino Ndong Esono Nchama, assisted by the Official Coordinator of the Interior Antenna for UNESCO Cultural Programmes in Malabo, Ellen Lekka, and officials from the department of Culture.
Twelve ministries and seven NGOs also took part with support and collaboration in identifying the interesting sites in the country.
The aim is to prepare a mission of experts who will come at the start of the year, to work with the ministries in Equatorial Guinea, and look at and document the potential areas in each region.
