The First Lady, Constancia Mangue de Obiang, called a meeting with the President of the Senate, Teresa Efua Asangono, and the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Gaudencio Mohaba Mesu. The audience took place on 26th march, at the People’s Palace in Malabo.
During the meeting, the First Lady expressed her concern regarding the increase in cases of the rape of minors over the last few days.
Mohaba Mesu shared the concern of Mangue de Obiang and described the situation as “alarming”, while Efua Asangono, in addition to confirming that sex crimes were going unpunished, stated that the legislative body was going to take action regarding the situation.
In the last two weeks four cases of the rape of minors have been recorded in Malabo.
