The First Lady of the Nation, Honorary Pilgrim of the Jubilee Year 2017, Constancia Mangue de Obiang, visited Montero, on the outskirts of the Bolivian city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, coinciding with the IV Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GEFC), hosted by the Plurinational State of Bolivia, from 22nd to 24th of this month.
The First Lady went to Montero to visit the church of Conventual Franciscans, whose patron is St. Ramon Nonato, which was consecrated on 30th October 2017, after a presence of 40 years in Bolivia. The parish priest Juan Kuclas explained to Constancia Mangue the significance of the religious figures in the church on the site.
Taking advantage of her stay, the Pilgrim of Honour was taken to the municipal Council by the Mayor, Juan Batista, where the councillors are all women; a fact that the First Lady observed with great satisfaction on discovering that the Government of H. E. Evo Morales ensures the promotion of Bolivian women.
Furthermore, the First Lady did not rule out the possibility of making a pilgrimage to Montero in the near future. The visit concluded with hugs, as the members of the that town hall had never before welcomed a First Lady in their jurisdiction.
