The island of Annobon was the first stop on the State tour by H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo. The presidential entourage was received by a guard of honour led by the governor of the province, Marcelo Ngue Nkulu, marking the official start of the planned tour.
In accordance with the programme, various events took place for the benefit of the local population, such as the laying of the first stones for the continuation of the construction and modernisation of social infrastructures. During this tour of the nation, there will also be inaugurations of various projects that the Government has now concluded in places on the tour.
At a mass gathering various speeches were heard, including a speech by the mayor, Leandro Cachina, and one by the President of the PDGE District Council, Francisco Morgades, who both presented gifts to the President of the Nation. There was also a speech by the Governor of Annobon, Marcelo Ngua Nkulu.
The occasion was an opportunity for the inhabitants of Annobon to be the first to hear the message from the Head of State and Government, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, for the population in this tour, in which the leader of the nation invited natives of the island to contribute towards keeping the peace and harmony, and to treat foreigners well.
Furthermore, the Head of State was accompanied by the Vice Prime Minister of the Government, Charged with the Political Sector, Clemente Engonga Nguema Onguene, the PDGE General Secretary, Jeronimo Osa Osa Ecoro, and the Deputy General Secretary, Jesusa Obono Engono, among other figures.
